What the extension stores on your device

The extension keeps a small amount of data in your browser's own storage, on your computer. None of it is sent to Caucasus AI Labs.

• Your sign-in tokens, so you are not asked to sign in on every use. Signing out deletes them.
• Your name and email address as they appear on your Compass account, to show who is signed in.
• Interface preferences: chosen language, light or dark theme, and whether you have already seen the introduction.

What the extension sends, and to whom

The extension talks to exactly one address: the Compass server your organization uses. The browser enforces this — the extension is declared with a single permitted address and cannot reach any other, including ours.

• Your email address and password when you sign in, and your activation code the first time.
• The questions you type, and the conversation they belong to.
• Nothing else. The extension has no access to the web pages you visit — it runs only in its own side panel and installs no code into any site.

What your organization's Compass server does with it

Your questions and your organization's documents are held on the Compass server your organization runs. Your organization decides where that server sits, who may use it, and how long anything is kept.

To answer a question, that server sends the question and the relevant excerpts from your organization's documents to the AI model provider your organization has configured — currently OpenAI or Anthropic. This is how the answer is produced. It means document text leaves your organization's server for that provider, under that provider's terms, unless your organization has deployed a model it hosts itself.

If you are unsure which provider your organization uses, or whether it hosts its own, ask whoever administers Compass in your organization.

What we do not do

• We do not sell or rent your data, and we never will.
• We do not use your questions or your organization's documents to train models.
• We put no advertising, analytics or tracking of any kind in the extension.
• We do not read, record or transmit the web pages you have open.
• We do not receive a copy of your documents or your questions through the extension. They go to your organization's server.

Deleting your data

Signing out, or removing the extension from your browser, deletes everything the extension stored on your device.

Your account, your past conversations and your organization's documents live on your organization's Compass server, and are deleted by whoever administers it. Ask them, or write to us and we will tell you who to ask.

Children

Compass is a tool for people at work. It is not directed at children and we do not knowingly collect anything from them.

Changes to this policy

If we change what the extension stores or sends, we change this page in the same release, and the date at the top moves. The Chrome Web Store listing points here permanently, so this page is the current version by definition.
